Position Overview

At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), our Truck Mechanics keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve customers. With steady local work, competitive pay, and a culture built on safety and respect, you’ll take pride in maintaining the trucks that keep our business moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpersonal & Business Conduct
  • Communicate effectively with associates, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate business operations
• Maintenance & Repair
  • Service and maintain all company vehicles
  • Fabricate, repair, and maintain plant machinery
• Tools, Materials, & Equipment Used
  • Hand & Power Tools: welder, bandsaw, cutting torch
  • Heavy Equipment & Vehicles: tractor, dump truck, forklift
  • Other Equipment: car wash
• Safety
  • Adheres to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
• Physical Job Requirements
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
  • Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights. Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
  • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

Qualifications

• Certified ASE Mechanic
• Commercial Driver’s License
• Must be a high school graduate or have a GED

Compensation

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
