Position Summary
At OTC Industrial Technologies, being an Electric Motor Repair Mechanic is more than repairing motors—it's an opportunity to apply your technical expertise while helping keep critical industrial equipment running. You'll diagnose, repair, test, and rebuild a variety of electric motors and generators in a hands‑on environment where quality, safety, and craftsmanship come first.
Competitive PayThis position offers an hourly wage starting at $25.00/hr, pay may increase depending on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do- Safely inspect, disassemble, diagnose, repair, assemble, test, and paint industrial electric motors and generators.
- Perform repairs on a variety of equipment, including:
- Three-phase AC induction motors
- Synchronous motors
- Wound rotor motors
- DC motors and generators
- Utilize precision measuring tools, including micrometers (or demonstrate a willingness to learn).
- Document repair processes using Apple‑based devices by photographing work throughout the repair cycle.
- Complete "as found" and completed work reports using Microsoft Windows and Excel.
- Operate jib cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work independently or collaboratively to complete repairs while meeting quality and production expectations.
- Work overtime as needed to support customer commitments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
- Previous experience repairing industrial electric motors and generators.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience safely operating shop equipment, cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Basic computer proficiency or willingness to learn Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Apple devices.
- Ability to read and use precision measuring tools, including micrometers (or willingness to learn).
- Dependable, punctual, self‑motivated, and coachable.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must provide and maintain personal hand tools appropriate for the position.
- Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and use of industrial equipment in a manufacturing/repair environment.
