Location: O'Fallon, MO (Hybrid)
Duration: 13 Months
Bill Rate: $75-$80/hr on C2C

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java/J2EE to develop highly scalable, high-performance microservices that support real-time financial transaction processing. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and building low-latency, high-throughput applications in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design software components by translating business and product requirements into technical solutions.
- Break down project requirements into development tasks and provide accurate effort estimates.
- Develop clean, modular, scalable, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Design low-level components independently and contribute to high-level architecture discussions.
- Select appropriate data structures, frameworks, and technology stacks for optimal application performance.
- Build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
- Research new technologies, develop proof-of-concepts, and recommend innovative solutions.
- Participate in peer code reviews and promote coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, QA, Dev Ops, and Architects.
- Take ownership of applications from development through production support and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing RESTful Web Services and Microservices Architecture.
- Solid knowledge of Kafka and event-driven application development.
- Experience with JPA/Hibernate and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of data structures, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
- Experience building highly scalable, high-availability, and high-performance applications.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, and continuous refactoring practices.
- Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building AI-assisted applications, autonomous or semi-autonomous agents, and agentic workflow systems.
- Experience developing distributed systems for high-volume transaction processing.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern Dev Ops practices.
