The Operations Delivery Specialist is a hybrid Delivery/Warehouse role responsible for supporting GT Midwest’s local delivery operations and assisting warehouse functions to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality service to our customers. This position plays a key role in our VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) workflow by delivering product to customer drop zones, optimizing route performance, and assisting warehouse staff with picking, packing, and shipping orders.

Delivery

  • Verify delivery accuracy before departure (count, labels, paperwork).
  • Maintain professionalism and strong customer service on all customer sites.
  • Conduct daily route inspections (vehicle condition, cleanliness, safety checklist).
  • Follow all DOT, GT Midwest, and customer‑specific delivery requirements.
  • Communicate any delivery issues, delays, or customer concerns immediately to the Operations Supervisor.
VMI Workflow Support
  • Deliver products to designated drop zones for customers on VMI programs.
  • Coordinate with the VMI Specialist on schedule, drop‑zone accuracy, and product staging.
  • Capture any customer notes, stocking concerns, or usage changes and report back to the team.
Warehouse Support
  • Assist with daily picking, packing, and shipping operations as needed.
  • Support inbound and outbound activities (staging, consolidation, organization).
  • Follow all GT Midwest Standard Work Instructions for picking, packing, receiving, and product handling.
  • Maintain clean, organized warehouse work areas aligned with 5S standards.
  • Help replenish fast‑moving stock and support warehouse accuracy initiatives.
Quality & Accountability
  • Ensure 100% verification of all deliveries loaded onto the truck.
  • Assist in reducing picking/packing/shipping errors by following process standards.
  • Accurately record any issues or discrepancies found at customer sites or within the warehouse.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and daily operational alignment.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1–3 years of delivery, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, operate pallet jacks, and maneuver warehouse materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in the warehouse.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse scanning, labeling, and order processing (training provided).
