The Operations Delivery Specialist is a hybrid Delivery/Warehouse role responsible for supporting GT Midwest’s local delivery operations and assisting warehouse functions to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality service to our customers. This position plays a key role in our VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) workflow by delivering product to customer drop zones, optimizing route performance, and assisting warehouse staff with picking, packing, and shipping orders.
Delivery& Route Operations
- Perform local deliveries to customer drop zones accurately and on time.
- Ensure each delivery is staged properly so the VMI Specialist can perform put‑away and scanning later in the day.
- Verify delivery accuracy before departure (count, labels, paperwork).
- Maintain professionalism and strong customer service on all customer sites.
- Conduct daily route inspections (vehicle condition, cleanliness, safety checklist).
- Follow all DOT, GT Midwest, and customer‑specific delivery requirements.
- Communicate any delivery issues, delays, or customer concerns immediately to the Operations Supervisor.
- Deliver products to designated drop zones for customers on VMI programs.
- Coordinate with the VMI Specialist on schedule, drop‑zone accuracy, and product staging.
- Capture any customer notes, stocking concerns, or usage changes and report back to the team.
- Assist with daily picking, packing, and shipping operations as needed.
- Support inbound and outbound activities (staging, consolidation, organization).
- Follow all GT Midwest Standard Work Instructions for picking, packing, receiving, and product handling.
- Maintain clean, organized warehouse work areas aligned with 5S standards.
- Help replenish fast‑moving stock and support warehouse accuracy initiatives.
- Ensure 100% verification of all deliveries loaded onto the truck.
- Assist in reducing picking/packing/shipping errors by following process standards.
- Accurately record any issues or discrepancies found at customer sites or within the warehouse.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and daily operational alignment.
- 1–3 years of delivery, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, operate pallet jacks, and maneuver warehouse materials.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in the warehouse.
- Basic understanding of warehouse scanning, labeling, and order processing (training provided).
