Overview

Food and food service delivery drivers play a critical role in supporting the nation’s food supply chain by ensuring that customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition while representing the company with professionalism and building lasting relationships.

Position Details
  • Average pay $75,000 - $100,000+ Annually with Uncapped Pay Potential. Quarterly safety bonuses, unlimited referral bonuses ($2,500 per referral)
  • 4- or 5-day work week with additional days available, up to 2 nights out per week. Approx. $145 for per diem and overnight compensation. New equipment!
  • $5,000 Sign on Bonus for drivers with over 1 year CDL A experience. Any person who has worked for a Performance Food Group (PFG) owned company within the last 6 months is not eligible for this incentive.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). act as needed to meet company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company safe driving guidelines, and policies.
  • Immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices against load.
  • Complete required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach pre‑loaded trailer as needed.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport items to designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor to remove orders according to company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required; load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
  • Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring to driver check‑in, and complete necessary paperwork. Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 6+ months Commercial driving experience.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Meet PFG Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requirements for past 3 years.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug test.
  • Meet PFG FMCSA Clearinghouse Requirements.
  • Pass road test.
  • Able to secure new DOT Medical Card.
  • Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight ranging from approximately 60 to 90 pounds.
  • Must be able to work the assigned schedule required for the position.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • English language proficiency is required.
