Full‑Time | Professional Level | Exempt
Do you enjoy collaboration, problem‑solving, and purpose-driven work? If so, Beacon College may have the perfect role for you!
At Beacon College, you will do more than accounting, you will help students access the funding and understanding they need to thrive academically. As a Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Accounting Specialist, you will serve as a critical bridge between students, state agencies, and our campus teams, ensuring VR funds are accurately billed, tracked, and applied. Your work directly supports students and helps remove financial barriers to their education.
That is work that matters.
No two days are exactly alike-but here is a snapshot of how you will make an impact:
Provide student support through student facing environments.
Coordinate and process Vocational Rehabilitation awards before each academic year
Track, bill, and reconcile VR payments in accordance with state and federal regulations
Communicate regularly with Financial Aid Services and Accounting leadership
Monitor billing inboxes (and respond within 48 hours)
Assist with semester check‑ins, disbursements, and student account support
Maintain clean, accurate records using Jenzabar and Excel spreadsheets
Support a paperless, tech‑forward student account environment
Jump in as backup support for deposits, phones, and student account inquiries
We are seeking someone who brings both technical skill and heart to the role:
* Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience
* Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
* Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and Jenzabar experience a plus.
* Ability to work well with students, families, and campus partners.
* A willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a mission‑driven institution.
* Experience with higher education or vocational rehabilitation funding is a plus.
