The HR Front Desk Assistant will assist the HR department staff with various day-to-day clerical duties. Student will acquire working knowledge of day-to-day HR office operations. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.
Responsibilities- Routine clerical responsibilities including greeting visitors to the department, filing, answering phones, and maintaining an effective working relationship with College Faculty, Staff, students, vendors, and visitors.
- Demonstrate and maintain excellent customer service skills, professional appearance, and demeanor.
- Perform duties as required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in technology, such as computer, multi-line phone system, scanner and copier.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.
- Basic English & Math skills are required for clerical work.
- Attention to detail & proficiency in organization is required.
- Promote a common purpose consistent with stated College goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
- Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
- Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Present a professional image in word, action and attire.
- Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with a diverse population while understanding and respecting each other’s views of the world, personalities, and working styles.
- Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the College’s standards of ethical conduct.
- Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicate and collaborate with others to achieve goals.

- Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours)
- Currently hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Minimum age of 18 and not dual enrolled
