* Plans and carries out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
* Supervises students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
* Teaches assigned courses in accordance with department expectations.
* Assists with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
* Publishes complete syllabus to students by the first day classes begin.
* Attends all scheduled or called meetings by the President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, or LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
* Teaches all classes for the full period as scheduled.
* Evaluates student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
* Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
* Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
* Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
* Assist and counsel students as needed.
* Utilize material and technology necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
* Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional methods.
* Regularly examine content of assigned courses and recommend changes to LSSC supervisor if needed.
* Complies with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
* Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
* Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards and practices.
* Ability to work various hours including nights, early morning and weekends.
* Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or off campus, as required.
* Required
* Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in:
* Biology
* Environmental Science
* Botany
* Water Management
* Zoology
* Geology
* Geospatial Science
* Agriculture/Agro-science. *
  • Developmental Education Credit Courses:
    Bachelor's degree in teaching discipline or related area. Educational Credentials (Foreign Degrees) Applicants with foreign transcripts earned outside the United States must submit an evaluation from a credentialing evaluation service recognized by a U.S.

    -based accrediting body (such as NACES or AICE) to verify that the education/degree meets the minimum requirements for the position. Official transcripts, along with certified English translations if applicable, must be provided within 30 days of hire as a condition of employment.
