First Trinity Academy is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated 2nd Grade Teacher who is committed to helping young learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are a private school with small class sizes, allowing teachers to build meaningful relationships with students while providing individualized instruction in a supportive learning environment.

Position Summary

The 2nd Grade Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction that fosters academic excellence and character development. The teacher will create a structured, positive classroom environment that encourages students to become confident readers, writers, mathematicians, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging daily lessons in core subjects:
    • English Language Arts
    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • Social Studies
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all learners.
  • Build strong foundational skills in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and mathematics.
  • Incorporate hands‑on learning experiences, technology, and project‑based activities into instruction.
  • Foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and well‑managed classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instruction.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and parent conferences.
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate (preferred but not required).
  • Previous elementary classroom teaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies for elementary learners.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a private or faith‑based school.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and small‑group teaching.
  • Familiarity with project‑based learning and STEM/STEAM integration.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
