Tax Specialist I
This is a Tax Specialist I position in the General Tax Administration Program's, Criminal Investigations Process. The incumbent provides System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX) support, assists in identifying user issues/training needs, provides new employee/in service training, analyzes system data/reports to identify accounts exhibiting indicators of criminal activity and suitability for investigative review, assists with processing complaints/referrals, and collects data and supporting documents from internal and external partners.
The incumbent also assists in the review and scheduling of taxpayer accounts to accurately determine reporting, remittances, deficiencies, and liabilities, remains current on emerging SUNTAX enhancements and issues, recommends and assists in developing process improvements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Two years of collections experience, at the Revenue Specialist III level or above, in the General Tax Administration Program's, Receivables Management Process.
Preferences:
- Experience in researching, reviewing, and analyzing data.
- Experience testifying in a judicial proceeding.
Special Notes:
- This position requires regular travel for field visits, training, meetings, conferences and other job-related responsibilities. You will be required to provide your own means of transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed according to existing Department of Revenue policies at the time of travel.
- This position requires the lifting and carrying of 20 to 30 lbs.
Salary:
The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $3,881.92 monthly/$46,583.04 annually.
