The Plantation Golf Club in Leesburg, Florida is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands‑on Golf Course Superintendent to lead the agronomic and maintenance operations of our 36‑hole golf facility.
Located in Central Florida within The Plantation at Leesburg, an active 55+ residential community, the club features two 18‑hole golf courses—Otter Creek and Cranes Roost—along with a driving range, short‑game facilities, putting areas, and an active tournament and league schedule.
This is an excellent opportunity for a superintendent who wants to take ownership of an operation and make a meaningful impact. The Plantation is transitioning its golf course maintenance operation in‑house and is committed to building a sustainable, efficient, and high‑quality agronomic program. The Superintendent will have significant input into the development of the maintenance team, agronomic programs, operating procedures, equipment utilization, budgeting, and long‑term course improvement strategy.
The successful candidate will be a visible, hands‑on leader who is comfortable working alongside the maintenance team when necessary while also effectively managing the overall operation. Primary responsibilities include turfgrass management, irrigation management, fertility and chemical programs, course setup and presentation, equipment and preventative maintenance oversight, staff recruitment and development, purchasing, inventory control, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and long‑range agronomic planning.
Central Florida presents unique turfgrass and environmental challenges, and we are looking for a superintendent who understands—or is eager and capable of mastering—warm‑season turf management, irrigation and water management, nematode and disease pressures, fertility programs, and maintaining quality playing conditions throughout the year.
The Superintendent will work closely with the General Manager and club leadership to establish priorities, communicate course conditions and agronomic needs, develop realistic maintenance standards, and responsibly manage the resources necessary to maintain 36 holes.

- Extensive knowledge of golf course agronomy and turfgrass management
- Strong irrigation and water‑management knowledge
- Experience developing fertility, chemical, and preventative agronomic programs
- Excellent organizational, budgeting, purchasing, and record‑keeping skills
- Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain a productive maintenance team
- Strong understanding of equipment utilization and preventative maintenance
- Ability to prioritize projects and maximize available labor and financial resources
- Excellent communication skills with management, employees, golfers, and community leadership
- A hands‑on leadership style and willingness to assist the team wherever necessary
- Commitment to improving course conditions, consistency, playability, and presentation

Requirements- Minimum 3–5 years of golf course maintenance experience, with previous experience as a Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or equivalent leadership position strongly preferred.
