Position: RN Supervisor - Shift 1 | Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital
Job Purpose:

The Registered Nurse Supervisor in Psychiatric care oversees nursing staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality consumer care within a behavioral health facility. This role involves managing clinical operations, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff during the third shift to ensure effective patient care delivery.

Monitor patient care plans and ensure adherence to established protocols and procedures.

Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including mentoring and performance evaluations.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs and improve care processes.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

Address and resolve any issues or incidents that arise during the shift, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.

Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and shift activities.

Required

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred

Additional education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Clinical Director of Nursing.

Required Experience:

Minimum of Three (3) years nursing management experience in a mental health facility

Minimum of One (1) year in a supervisory position required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Proficient in clinical assessment and critical thinking to ensure high-quality patient care.

Ability to handle stressful situations and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in patient care.
