Position: Orthopedic RN Navigator | FT

Overview

The Ortho Nurse Navigator is responsible for upholding excellence in the provision of nursing clinical care through implementation of evidence-based standards of care. The Ortho Nurse Navigator possesses broad nursing knowledge and clinical expertise in a specialty area. The Ortho Nurse Navigator has oversight of the daily operations of the orthopedic program, acts as a clinical resource throughout the continuum of care, maintains weekly performance tracking and communication to the Orthopedic Program Supervisor and interdisciplinary team as appropriate.

Identifies and implements best practices for operations and sharing of knowledge to enhance service and quality of the organization. Develops appropriate education and communication plans with the orthopedic interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and meet program initiatives. Partners with physicians directly involved in our orthopedic program to improve efficiency, meet program requirements and improve outcomes. Facilitates problem resolution, process improvement and communication flow.

Reports to the Orthopedic Program Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Orthopedic RN Navigator - Joint Commission Certification

Supports and leads the orthopedic joint certification program by coordinating Joint Commission application activities, tracking and reporting quality outcomes, maintaining certification readiness, and partnering with teams to improve patient care and program performance. Monday-Friday.

Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Associate’s Degree (required)
    • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
    • Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Florida Registered Nurse License (required)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Special Skills/

    Qualifications:
    • Effective Communication across multiple disciplines
    • Relationship Building
    • Self-Motivated
    • Strong Organizational Skills
    • Project Management
  • Clinical exposure/experience with program patients.
  • Experience with Education, Quality, Disease Management Certification, or Management Experience preferred.
  • Experience:

    2 years clinical service line experience in at least one area of specialty preferred.
