RN Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital

Job Purpose:

- The RN position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned Unit. They will, by virtue of their role, be responsible for providing professional psychiatric nursing care, via their own task functions and supervision of the task of other nursing personnel on their shift. Ensures all members of his/her team provide quality and effective nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental and physical health status upon admission and throughout their stay.

- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.

- Monitor and document patients' progress, reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and health management.

- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by following safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, treatment plans, and discharge planning.

- Serve as a resource and mentor to other nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health nursing.

- Uphold the mission and values of LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Required

Education:

- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
- Meeting minimum standards of the Florida State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse required

Required Experience:

- 0-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral health or psychiatric setting.

- Experience in providing patient care in a clinical environment.
