Quality Assurance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to perform daily QA checks on finished products and shipped goods, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This role involves managing product retainers, verifying production logs, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The technician will also assist in establishing quality standards and perform additional duties as required.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily QA checks on finished products and shipped goods.
+ Ensure samples are obtained for required testing.
+ Manage product retainers.
+ Verify the completeness of daily production logs.
+ Ensure all work is performed within SOPs and cGMP.
+ Assist in the establishment of quality standards.
+ Perform back-up for production personnel.
+ Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on QA equipment.
+ Calibrate scales, perform weight checks every 30 minutes, and conduct X-Ray checks hourly.
+ Navigate batch records and execute quality assurance goals and objectives on the production floor.
+ Evaluate QA processes for inbound raw materials and finished goods.
+ Collaborate with management to implement department improvements and maintain quality compliance.
+ Communicate with purchasing and compliance regarding testing processes.
+ Facilitate quality meetings to discuss testing methods.
+ Validate quality processes by ensuring product specifications and quality attributes.
+ Conduct periodic surveillance audits and follow up on customer complaints.
+ Review certificates of analysis and raw criteria for batch records.
+ Ensure quality runs of inbound raws to specification for batch.
+ Send out products and raws to third-party labs.
+ Obtain air and water samples from the production floor.
+ Work with auditing bodies such as Kosher, Halal, and Organic.
Essential Skills
+ At least one year of experience in quality assurance, preferably in Food and Beverage.
+
Experience with Batch Records and manual/computer documentation.
+ Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
+ Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
+ Working knowledge of PC, Microsoft Office, and the Internet.
+ Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
+ Good attendance, appearance, personal hygiene, and communication skills.
+ Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work behind a computer for extended periods.
+ Ability to prepare accurate, timely, and complete reports.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ A degree and management experience are a plus.
+ Experience in the food processing and manufacturing industry is preferred.
+ Understanding of equipment setup, breakdown, cleaning, sanitizing, lockout, and tagout procedures.
+ Ability to lead and manage others.
Work Environment
This position is in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will be involved in testing, producing, manufacturing, and shipping supplements. The environment can be chaotic, so you must be comfortable with change and a fast-paced work setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leesburg, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
