Store Cashier

Overview

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) is seeking a Store Cashier in Leesburg, FL. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service while operating a cash register, ringing up sales transactions, and greeting and assisting customers and donors.

• Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
• Direct customers to the proper area and provide general information as requested.
• Ring up all sales transactions on the cash register and complete sales.
• Ensure each customer receives the proper change and correct receipt for purchase.
• Follow policies and procedures concerning cash, checks, charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and the Round Up program.
• Keep the register area clean and orderly at all times.
• Answer telephone calls promptly using established etiquette procedures.
• Assist sales floor employees with stocking and recovery as needed.

• Physical and Environmental:
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Standing and walking for long periods.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment (office with computers, printers, light traffic).
• Education and Experience:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School education or equivalent is preferred. Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and beginner knowledge of touch screen cash registers.
