Job Summary

Apprentice – $18.08 per hour

Purpose:

learn to maintain Lift Stations, schedule and perform preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, and generate reports. Work under general supervision. Weekend, holiday, after‑hours and emergency response may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Apprentice – Learn troubleshooting Lift Station malfunctions, perform repairs, remove and replace equipment, maintain facility and grounds, evaluate system readings, monitor vehicles, attend staff meetings, and participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Technician “C” – Perform preventive maintenance on piping, systems, and equipment in accordance with prescribed schedules; troubleshoot malfunctions and verify SCADA operation; remove and replace components; maintain facility and grounds; assist maintenance staff; evaluate readings; keep logs; attend meetings; on‑call rotation.
  • Technician “B” – Schedule and perform preventive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions; verify and maintain SCADA; remove/replace components; maintain facility; assist staff; guide less experienced workers; evaluate readings; maintain logs using CMMS; perform office tasks; attend meetings; on‑call rotation.
  • Technician “A” – Schedule and perform preventive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions; verify and maintain SCADA; remove/replace components; maintain facility; assist staff; guide and schedule less experienced workers; evaluate readings; create and close work orders in CMMS; perform office tasks and timesheets; review timesheets; set performance plans; conduct evaluations; develop procedures; on‑call rotation.
Minimum Requirements
  • Apprentice – High school diploma or equivalent; TTC approved certification within 18 months of hire (preferred);
    Confined Space Entry certification within 18 months;
    Class C Wastewater Collections Certification within 18 months; residence within a 20‑mile radius of Leesburg.
  • Technician “C” – 2080 hours of wastewater or lift‑station experience; at least 1 year mechanical maintenance; at least 1 year electrical controls experience;
    Confined Space Entry competency certificate;
    Wastewater Collection Certificate C; MOT approved; valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Technician “B” – 6240 hours of wastewater or lift‑station experience; at least 3 years mechanical maintenance; at least 3 years electrical controls experience;
    Confined Space Entry competency;
    Wastewater Collections Certificate B;
    Backflow Tester Certification within 18 months;
    Class B CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months; satisfactory driving record.
  • Technician “A” – 10400 hours of wastewater or lift‑station experience; at least 5 years mechanical maintenance; at least 5 years electrical controls experience;
    Confined Space Entry competency;
    Wastewater Collections Certificate A;
    Backflow Tester Certification;
    Class B CDL with tanker endorsement and no restrictions;
    Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months; satisfactory driving record.
Compensation

Apprentice – $18.08 per hour

Technician “C” – $21.14 per hour

Technician “B” – $22.87 per hour

Technician “A” – $25.72 per hour
