Essential Functions
- Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Ability to work in high and/or precarious places or cramped work spaces that require awkward positions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
- Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds.
- Basic literacy and math skills to read technical manuals, record repairs, operate welding equipment, and perform other tasks.
- Perform preventative maintenance repairs following established procedures.
- Prepare the welding area and weld joints.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints.
- Maintain daily reports as required by Company regulations.
- Monitor the welding process and make adjustments as needed.
- May be required to operate forklift or man lift.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing welding equipment and work area.
- Comply with all safety, health, environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Learn to use a variety of hand and power tools, including a cutting torch and welding equipment, to rebuild and fabricate parts.
- Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, actively listening and adapting the message to the audience.
- Works cooperatively and effectively with team members to achieve shared goals, willingly assists others, and fosters a positive and productive team environment.
- Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues; identifies signs of equipment malfunction and reports them.
- Recognizes, understands, and adheres to safety protocols and procedures; proactively identifies potential hazards and mitigates risks.
- Honors commitments, acknowledges and corrects mistakes, and takes full ownership to address and fix problems.
- Meticulous and precise; thoroughly and accurately completes tasks, ensuring quality and integrity.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves work‑related issues efficiently using practical knowledge, experience, and hands‑on skills; adapts to unexpected challenges.
- Fabricate and repair mobile equipment components using welding processes.
- Maintain equipment and work area organization.
- Document repairs and daily activity reports.
- Operate forklift and man lift when required.
- Support welding operations in various positions and environments.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams on equipment issues and replacements.
- High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- Entry‑level welding skills; aggregate welding experience preferred.
- High school or recreational welding experience is preferred.
- Ability to understand oral and written technical instructions.
- Skilled in operating welding equipment to join metal components.
- Excellent driving skills and ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations during duties.
- Good mechanical skills; familiarity with raw materials and production processes.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Comprehensive mechanical and welding skills.
- Travel to other facilities may be required.
- Must be willing to work overtime, flexible hours, and weekends as demanded by customer and company needs.
- Work outdoors and be exposed to varying and extreme weather conditions (heat, wet, cold, etc.).
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
