Unit Secretary

Loudoun Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
Leesburg, Virginia

Loudoun Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 104-bed skilled nursing facility located in downtown Leesburg, Virginia. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Unit Secretary to join our team and provide essential administrative and resident support to our nursing unit.

Position Summary

The Unit Secretary provides administrative and clerical support to the nursing unit while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the unit. This position assists with resident admissions and discharges, medical records, appointments, physician communication, and other non-clinical duties. The Unit Secretary also provides hands-on support to residents and the nursing team as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the nursing unit, including answering phones, managing communications, and maintaining unit records.

  • Assist with resident admissions, readmissions, and discharges, including preparing charts, paperwork, and medical records.

  • Schedule resident appointments and assist with transportation and on-site specialist visits.

  • Process and file physician orders, laboratory results, dietary recommendations, and other resident documentation.

  • Gather information and prepare materials for daily stand-up meetings.

  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and respectful environment for residents, families, and staff.
