General Service Technician – Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto

Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto – a multi-generational family business that provides a full-service solution for all automotive and repair needs, including tire replacement, inspections, and maintenance packages.

The General Service Technician performs non-technical automotive service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, and maintains shop cleanliness. Responsibilities also include driving customers, picking up parts, and operating company vehicles safely and courteously.

• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance, and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services under the direction of the Shop Manager or Store Manager.
• Observes vehicle condition during basic services and reports potential repairs or safety concerns using the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop, service area, tire racks, showroom, and exterior.
• Safely transports customers to and from their residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Picks up parts, supplies, tires, etc., from vendors or corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operates company vehicle safely and courteously, obeying all traffic laws.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections following company and state guidelines.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports concerns to the Shop Manager or Store Manager.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid, clean driver’s license, or obtain a valid driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• General understanding of under-the-hood mechanical and under‑carriage assemblies.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days per week, including weekends.

The General Service Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and may include extreme heat and/or cold.

• Stand up to eight hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
• Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly; possess full range of motion with arms and hands.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to hear, speak, and vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and refocus.
