I’m excited to share that Oatlands is hiring for several part‑time, positions for the 2026 season (approximately nine months, with the possibility of extension).
We have a small but mighty team, and we are deeply committed to preserving this nationally significant site while telling its full, inclusive, and complex history! If you—or someone in your network—are passionate about public history, education, horticulture, visitor experience, preservation, or nonprofit work, we would truly love for you to consider joining us.
Here’s a brief overview of the roles:
- Visitor Services & Special Events Assistant
: A hands‑on role focused on coordinating and executing member programs, site‑produced events, and supporting visitor services one day per week. Ideal for someone who enjoys logistics, hospitality, and mission‑driven events. - Visitor Services Assistant
: A confident keyholder role supporting front‑of‑house operations, ticketing, retail, programs, and events. Great for someone who enjoys engaging directly with the public and creating welcoming experiences. - Seasonal Education Associate
:
Leads K–12 school programs and guided mansion tours, interpreting the full history of Oatlands through dynamic, dialogic engagement. Includes work with our summer camp program. A wonderful opportunity for educators, graduate students, or emerging public historians.
