Position Summary

The Engineering Intern will gain hands-on experience within REHAU's Water Technologies engineering team at our Leesburg headquarters. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering who want exposure to real-world problem solving, product development, system design, and cross-functional collaboration.

While based in our corporate engineering environment, the role offers insight into how products move from concept through testing and implementation, supporting both internal teams and field applications.

This is a highly interactive internship where you will actively contribute to projects, collaborate with engineering and business partners, and own a structured engineering assignment from concept through presentation.

Key Responsibilities

* Support engineering team members with active projects including:

* Test assemblies

* Claims analysis

* 3D modeling and drawings

* Manufacturing improvement initiatives

* Develop and execute a structured, real-world engineering project including:

* Problem definition

* Budget development

* Timeline and expected release date

* Test plan creation

Prototype development

* Final presentation of findings

* Create 3D models and drawings based on plant and manufacturing requests

* Assist in organizing and improving engineering workspace and documentation systems

* Gain hands-on experience with REHAU tools and fitting lines

* Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to support process improvements

Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering program

* Experience with or exposure to:

* Solid Works

* AutoCAD

* 3D printing

* Database management tools

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

* Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

* Ability to apply sound engineering judgment in practical scenarios

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Program Details & Compensation

* Duration: 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026

* Schedule:

Full-time (30 hours per week)

* Compensation: $21.89 - $22.95 per hour

(Final hourly rate based on education level, relevant experience, and skill set)
