the loudoun county department of general services is looking for a passionate and skilled senior stormwater engineer to take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of stormwater management in one of the nation's fastest-growing counties. As a senior stormwater engineer, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our community stays compliant with local, state, and federal regulations while leading the way in creating innovative solutions for stormwater infrastructure, flood mitigation, and water quality protection.

the successful candidate will take charge of a variety of exciting and impactful tasks, including but not limited to:

• leading stormwater projects and overseeing best management practices (bmp) repairs to keep our community safe and sustainable.
• contributing to stormwater planning efforts within the water programs division-stormwater program, shaping the future of our region's water management.
• organizing, planning, and managing complex stormwater management programs that make a real difference in our environment.
• taking the lead in planning, designing, and acquiring stormwater management facilities that help protect our community.
• overseeing public works projects that contribute to the county's growth and infrastructure.
• supporting the development of professional services and construction contract scopes of work, managing consultants, contracts, and grants to ensure projects stay on track.
• managing construction and post-construction activities for stormwater and public works projects, ensuring all work is completed as planned and to the highest standards.
• leading various programs that ensure the county's compliance with the ms4 permit, safeguarding the environment for future generations.
