Valor Fleet Services is hiring a Director of Human Resources to support the growth of our portfolio of integrated transportation, towing, and fleet service brands.
We are a PE-backed platform currently operating five integrated brands, with an acquisition pace of approximately one new partner business per quarter. Our focus is not just acquiring businesses, but integrating them thoughtfully and effectively, preserving what makes each partner successful while building scalable standards across the platform.
This role is responsible for building, leading, and scaling the HR function across the platform. The Director of Human Resources will partner closely with senior leadership and operating teams to ensure our people systems, compliance, and culture can scale alongside rapid growth and ongoing acquisitions.
What You’ll DoYou will work closely with senior leadership, brand leaders, and cross-functional teams to build and lead HR across the Valor platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build, lead, and scale all core HR functions, policies, and processes across the platform
- Design and implement scalable HR infrastructure to support rapid organic growth and frequent acquisitions
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and operating teams on people strategy, workforce planning, and organizational design
- Lead employee relations, investigations, and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support and guide leaders across multiple locations with practical, hands-on HR leadership
- Partner on talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and retention initiatives
- Play a central role in post-acquisition people and culture integration while respecting local operating realities
- Use HR data and insights to inform decision-making and identify risks and opportunities
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role
- Proven experience building or scaling HR functions in multi-location, high-growth environments
- Strong employment law, compliance, and employee relations expertise
- Experience in PE-backed, acquisitive, or platform-style organizations preferred
- Hands-on, detail-oriented leader comfortable operating in fast-moving environments
- High EQ, low ego, and a collaborative, pragmatic approach to change
- Hands-on ownership of HR function in a rapidly growing platform
- Close partnership with senior leadership in a high-impact role
- Meaningful involvement in acquisition, integration, and organizational scaling
