Overview
We are seeking a Data Center Technician with a strong focus on structured cabling to support large-scale data center buildouts in the Leesburg, VA market. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced environment, supporting the installation and infrastructure build of critical data center systems.
This position is ideal for candidates with at least 1 year of commercial cabling or data center experience who are looking to grow within the data center industry.
Key Responsibilities
+ Install, route, and terminate structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic)
+ Pull and dress fiber and copper cables throughout the data center
+ Label, test, and document cable installations and network connections
+ Install cable trays, pathways, and supports
+ Terminate low-voltage devices and assist with network hardware installs (switches, servers, racks)
+ Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and project documentation
+ Maintain proper cable management and adhere to quality standards
+ Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements while working in a construction/data center environment
Required Qualifications
+ Minimum 1 year of experience in structured cabling, data center work, or low-voltage installation
+ Experience pulling and routing cable in commercial or industrial environments
+ Basic understanding of fiber and copper cabling standards
+ Ability to use hand and power tools
+ Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in physically demanding environments
+ Strong work ethic, reliability, and attendance
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working in data centers or large-scale construction sites
+ Familiarity with cable testing tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.)
+ Understanding of color codes and structured cabling standards
Work Environment
+ Data center construction and operational environment
+ Physically demanding role (standing, lifting, climbing)
+ PPE required (hard hat, vest, gloves, eye protection, steel toe boots)
+ Team-oriented, fast-paced setting
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leesburg, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
