The Senior Cybersecurity Lab Consultant will lead the physical build-out, administration, and sustained operation of a critical, isolated OT/IT test and validation environment. This role accelerates the security and operational resilience of our client’s global data center fleet by providing a dedicated space for vulnerability management, new technology evaluation, and process certification for OT systems such as BMS/PMS/SCADA.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in both IT (servers, networking, virtualization) and industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs), coupled with hands‑on experience managing a high‑availability lab or data center environment.
Responsibilities- Drive the physical build‑out and infrastructure management of the lab (Phases 1‑4) including KVM/remote access infrastructure and OT/IT hardware acquisition, rack, power‑on, and backup solution installation.
- Design and maintain lab environment realism, creating isolated network segments for OT simulation and maintaining physical lab tools, workbenches, and HMI/Client testing stations.
- Develop and implement operational procedures (Phases 5 & 7), SOPs, rapid turn‑up processes for provisioning new VMs or bare‑metal servers, and detailed vulnerability remediation workflows.
- Ensure compliance with internal physical and logical security requirements, including network isolation zones for identified OT connectivity.
- Document daily tasks, common tickets, “smart hands” requests, and transition the lab to a sustainable active‑support model.
- Engage stakeholders, perform “remote hands” tasks, refine Build/Destroy cycles, and support internal technology evaluation pilots.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 + years of professional experience in an IT, data‑center, or industrial/OT lab environment.
- Hands‑on experience coordinating Industrial Control Systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA), troubleshooting network connectivity, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Proficiency with server hardware, racking/cabling, power distribution, cooling, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware), and Linux command‑line administration.
- Hardware troubleshooting skills for servers and network devices.
- System administrator or technician experience in a data center or industrial plant setting.
- Deep understanding of network segmentation for OT/ICS networks (Modbus, BACnet).
- Experience writing SOPs, runbooks, and change‑management documentation.
- Knowledge of OT cybersecurity concepts such as vulnerability management and network visibility tools.
- Practical experience with PLC/HMI platforms (Rockwell, Schneider Electric, etc.) and vendor network device configuration (Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
