Automation Services Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Automation Services Engineer in Leesburg, Virginia
, to join a highly visible infrastructure and platform engineering team responsible for building and supporting the core platform that powers engineering across the organization. This role is ideal for an automation-focused engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, integrating technologies, and building scalable infrastructure solutions that enable others to be successful.

The ideal candidate will have strong Linux systems administration experience, a passion for automation, and a proven ability to design and implement reliable infrastructure-as-code solutions. You will work across systems, networking, CI/CD, virtualization, and open-source technologies while contributing to emerging internal AI initiatives. Employer paid medical benefits!!

MUST BE A UNITED STATES CITIZEN FOR THIS POSITION

• Build and maintain infrastructure automation frameworks using Ansible and related tools.
• Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines utilizing Git Lab for validation, testing, and deployment activities.
• Design and implement repeatable, reliable system configurations using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles.
• Automate system and service installation, configuration, patching, and validation processes.
• Build and maintain nightly and continuous validation pipelines to identify configuration drift and ensure platform health.
• Integrate and operationalize open-source tools and platforms into cohesive infrastructure solutions.
• Deliver platform services and automation tooling that support internal engineering teams.

• Strong hands-on experience administering Linux systems in production environments.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools, including:
  Ansible; Puppet;
  Chef;
  Salt
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  , preferably using Git Lab
  .
• Strong understanding of infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Experience working within Git-based workflows and version control best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple layers, including:
  Operating Systems, Networking Services and Applications
