About the OpportunityWe are a growing manufacturer with double-digit year-over-year growth, even in an otherwise stagnant industry. We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Procurement to lead sourcing and supplier strategy for raw materials and third-party finished goods, managing roughly $30M in annual spend across about 30 key suppliers.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll build and grow a small, high-performing team while staying close to the details — negotiating directly with suppliers, solving day-to-day sourcing challenges, and shaping strategy at the same time. If you want to be a doer, not just a delegator, this role is built for you.
What You’ll Do- Own procurement and sourcing strategy for raw materials and third-party manufactured products (including items like metal fittings and brass components)
- Lead and grow a team of purchasing specialists (starting at 1, growing to
2), providing coaching and day-to-day direction - Manage supplier relationships strategically, including many single- and dual-source supplier situations that require careful risk management and negotiation
- Source globally — evaluate and compare overseas vs. domestic sourcing options, and navigate international logistics, tariffs, and trade considerations
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms directly with suppliers
- Monitor market conditions and proactively manage supply risk and continuity
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Operations
- Present sourcing strategy and performance updates to leadership
- Travel up to 20% to visit suppliers
- 10+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience sourcing manufactured products — direct experience in any specific industry is not required
- Demonstrated experience with global/international sourcing, including comparing overseas vs. domestic options and navigating logistics and tariffs (required)
- People leadership experience — proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex supplier relationships, including single/dual-source situations
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred (or comparable ERP systems)
- Strong financial acumen and comfort supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Double-digit growth year-over-year, even in a challenging market
- A winning team and company culture right now
- Real opportunity to grow, learn, and promote within the organization
- A role where you’ll be empowered to roll up your sleeves and make an immediate impact, not just manage from a distance
- Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription coverage (PPO, HSA, and FSA options)
- Company-paid Life and Disability Insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid Time Off and Company Holidays
- Tuition reimbursement
- Professional development and career growth opportunities
