An Electrical Foreman is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders. This includes assigning tasks, ensuring high-quality installation, performing quality inspections, monitoring task completion and compliance, and preventing safety issues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan productivity for the assigned scope of work.
  • Organize material phasing by specific areas or floors and keep track of inventory.
  • Identify tools and equipment needed for each crew, assign gang boxes, and conduct tool inspections.
  • Prepare information packages for each crew activity, including drawings, schedules, and cut sheets.
  • Control breaks and monitor loss time related to personal breaks, smoking, and conversations.
  • Submit daily hour/unit reports for each crew member using the standard time sheet.
  • Conduct quality control inspections following established plans and checklists.
  • Ensure work is installed professionally and to high-quality standards.
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings weekly and log them onto master record drawings.
  • Inventory tools and equipment daily, ensure accountability and security, and submit inspection sheets weekly.
  • Report lost, stolen, or damaged tools.
  • Review and store all AHA’s related to the scope of work at crew gang boxes.
  • Submit weekly equipment inspection sheets for all assigned equipment.
  • Follow procedures for reporting and investigating accidents or incidents, submitting reports within 24 hours.
  • Oversee cleanup, ensuring work areas are broom-swept at day’s end.

Quality Standards

  • Ensure installation meets or exceeds codes, contractual obligations, and best practices.
  • Implement and document the Project Quality Plan, addressing deviations with site Q.C. approval.
  • Participate in 3-Phase Quality Control, including preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
  • Document inspections and facilitate adherence to QAQC schedules.
  • Initiate discrepancy notices to document and communicate issues.
  • Review weekly quality scorecards and address systemic issues.
  • Address ongoing quality issues and resolve nonconformities promptly.
  • Participate in QAQC design reviews for constructability issues.
  • Provide feedback during daily work briefings on quality matters.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of experience with an Associate degree.

Abilities

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, following safety protocols.
  • Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
  • Perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and English communication skills.
  • Operate standard ladders and tools safely within weight limits.
  • Recognize problems or potential issues, apply rules to specific problems, and synthesize information.
