PositionLoudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is seeking qualified candidates for the Trails Maintenance Technician position. Under the overall guidance of the assigned supervisor, manages the daily maintenance and operational tasks conducted on trails maintained by the County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services. This role offers on-site maintenance for trail construction, operations, and related projects.
Location• PRCS, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities- Administers the everyday maintenance and operational duties carried out on trails
- Oversees the routine upkeep of trails.
- Handles machinery, equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.
High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance and/or basic general maintenance preferably inclusive of some level of performance in a work leader capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Coursework in building trades.
- Three (3) years of applicable work experience in trail construction.
- A Commercial Pesticide Applicator's/Fertilizer Applicator License.
Must undergo pre-employment criminal and DMV background checks. Valid driver’s license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Obtain First Aid/CPR certifications within 6 months of hire. County supervisory, e-learning, and MOAT trainings as required.
