Role Description The Senior Technical Assembler is a full-time, on-site role based in Leesburg, VA, responsible for assembling complex security products and systems according to detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Daily tasks include mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, fitting components, and performing functional tests to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. The role involves troubleshooting assembly issues, collaborating with engineers and production staff to resolve technical problems, and suggesting improvements to assembly processes.

The Senior Technical Assembler also maintains accurate documentation, follows manufacturing and safety procedures, trains other assemblers, and supports inventory control and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, including reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic test equipment used in technical assembly environments.
  • Background in manufacturing, production, or engineering environments, ideally assembling security, electronic, or electro-mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of quality control practices, including inspection techniques, documentation, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot assembly and wiring issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior assemblers and work well in cross-functional teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field (e.g., electronics, manufacturing technology) is preferred.
  • Comfort working on-site in a production setting, following safety protocols, and occasionally lifting or moving moderate-weight components.
  • Prior experience in security products or related industries is a plus, along with familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
