Psychiatric NURSE Practitioner; Hybrid

Responsibilities

North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is currently hiring a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our Clinical Department!

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides psychiatric, diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders in collaboration with the psychiatrist. The Psychiatric NP will deliver quality medical care and serve actively and constructively as a member of the multidisciplinary clinical team to support the organization and program’s treatment philosophy.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Participate as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. Provides clinical services to the facility in coordination with the facility Medical Director.
• Actively participates in all treatment team meetings.
• Attends and participates in department and other program or clinical meetings, as needed.
• Assesses, directs, and intervenes in crisis situations.
• Diagnoses, prescribes medication, monitors medication side effects and participates in the treatment process of residents in collaboration with the psychiatrist.
• Provides and supports evidence-based practice within the scope of the hospital’s strategic vision and policies.
• Provides on‑call services based on hospital need and within the parameters of the employment agreement.
• Participates as needed with the hospital’s utilization review processes.

Location: Beautiful Leesburg, Virginia, 40 miles Northwest of Washington DC. 45‑acre campus with gymnasium, outdoor spaces and high ropes course. Excellent public school system.

• Professional experience of at least 2 years.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; completion of a Family Nurse Practitioner program. Additionally, experience in child and adolescent psychiatric care is preferred.
• Prior experience in a residential or acute inpatient treatment program is preferred.
• Licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of Virginia.
• Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, and interventions with patients; knowledge of milieu management; advanced skills in medication management; knowledge of acute adolescent and child medical disorders.
