Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse Per Diem UCHC BSP (Multiple Vacancies) — Bayside State Prison, Leesburg, NJ

• Administer total patient care based on individualized patient and family needs under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide technical nursing care, perform treatments and procedures within established guidelines, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Participate in data collection related to patient status and needs; communicate pertinent information to the Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice and support the plan of care.
• Instruct patients and significant others on health status and plan of care.
• Assist patients and families in preparation for discharge and health maintenance at home.
• Document all aspects of patient care.

• Possession of a valid Licensed Practical Nurse registration in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to provide own transportation between sites.

Required:

None specified beyond licensure and CPR. Preferred:
At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting.

Must have the physical capacity to perform CPR for extended periods and to assist in lifting and rotating patients (up to 50 pounds).

Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.
