Heavy Duty Technician

Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

• Base pay: minimum $28.00 – maximum $35.00 per hour
• Additional $0.25 per hour for each EVT certification you possess or obtain

• Vacation: minimum 2 weeks
• Sick days: 5 days
• Holidays: 11 days

• Company paid ASE testing and training materials

• Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately
• Assist with mobile emergency services

• Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed – we train
• At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
• Possess a mechanic’s toolset
• Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program; training, testing, and bonuses are provided
• Virginia State inspection license is highly preferred
• EVT Certification is a plus
• Subject to DOT drug testing; no use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on potentially sloped, slippery, and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to reach or store equipment at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
