Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment.
Benefits- Competitive compensation package of minimum $28.00 – Maximum $35.00
- An additional $0.25 per hour for each EVT certification you possess or obtain
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

- Company‑paid ASE testing and training materials
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with mobile emergency services.
- Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed – we train!
- At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education.
- Possess a mechanic’s toolset.
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses are provided.
- Virginia State inspection license is highly preferred.
- EVT Certification is a plus.
- Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
