We are Now Hiring a Light Duty Mechanic in Leesburg, VA!

Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced Light Duty Mechanic to bolster our team. This role requires expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment, playing a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $24.00 – Maximum $35.00
  • Additional $.10 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
  • Sick days: 5 days
  • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating
  • 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability
  • Company paid ASE testing and training materials
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
  • Assist with mobile emergency services.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed – we train!
  • At least 1 year of automotive maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
  • Possess a mechanic’s tool set
  • Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; training, testing, and bonuses provided
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
