The Admissions/Advising Department has an opening for an office worker to perform clerical duties. The work will be performed in a positive, team‑oriented environment. The successful candidate will provide assistance to students and staff members and will answer a multi‑phone line, file, label, sort/organize files and information, type correspondence and other duties as assigned. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available.
After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
- Post‑High School education
- Personal computer skills and background in specific computer applications such as word processing, database, Google Calendar, spreadsheets, etc.
- Experience with a multi‑line phone system and strong communication skills

Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. Ability to receive detailed information with or without assistance.
Physical Requirements of this positionLight work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work.
Visual Acuity RequirementsIncluding color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Conditions of the workplaceThe worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
Legal StatementDue to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as hourly or adjunct employees at Weber State for six months.
