Position: Assistant Director of Academic Support, Office of Academic Support

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Director of Academic Support serves as the right hand to the Director of Academic Support (OAS). This role provides high-level administrative, communication, and program support while also representing the Director when necessary. The AD ensures smooth daily operations, coordinates student-facing services, and helps maintain strong relationships with other departments, parents, students, and other stakeholders. In the Director’s absence, this role will assume leadership duties to ensure continuity of services and communications.

This position is remote and is unpaid, part-time, volunteer based.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the primary administrative and strategic support to the Director of Academic Support.
  • Manage the Director’s calendar, meetings, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence, presentations, and reports on behalf of the Director.
  • Represent the Director in meetings, workshops, or community events when necessary.
  • Assist ist in strategic planning and implementation of OAS programs.
  • Operational & Administrative Management
  • Oversee office operations to ensure efficiency and student-centered service.
  • Prepare materials, data, and agendas for staff meetings and board updates.
  • Support grant reporting and funding proposals with accurate data entry and document preparation.
  • Monitor key deadlines (applications, FAFSA/CSS Profile, scholarships, SAT/ACT) and coordinate reminders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Pri or experience in administrative support, customer service, or education/nonprofit setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familia rity with the college admissions processes, including standardized testing.
  • Excellent communica tion and interpersonal skills, with a student-centered approach.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, a nd b asic database management.
  • B ilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
