Job Description

The E-Commerce Photographer (PDP Photographer) is responsible for creating high-quality, on-brand product imagery for use across major retail and digital platforms, including Amazon, Target, Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods (DSG), and the company’s direct-to-consumer website. This role combines strong technical proficiency with a sharp creative eye to ensure every image communicates the product’s features, quality, and brand aesthetic/lighting.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with both strobe and continuous lighting, understands e-commerce visual standards, and thrives in a fast-paced studio environment producing consistent, accurate, and visually compelling imagery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, style, and execute high-quality product photography (PDP) for e-commerce and retail partners.
  • Manage all aspects of the shoot process — lighting setup, camera operation, file management, and post-production.
  • Maintain consistency across product categories and ensure all assets meet brand, retailer, and platform requirements (aspect ratio, background, resolution, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with the photography manager, stylists, and retouchers to ensure accuracy, color fidelity, and visual appeal.
  • Capture both hero imagery and secondary PDP assets, including detail and lifestyle-in-context images where applicable.
  • Apply expert knowledge of strobe and continuous lighting to achieve clean, high-contrast, true-to-color images.
  • Work efficiently within studio scheduling and production goals while maintaining creative quality.
  • Keep studio equipment, lighting setups, and capture stations organized and in optimal working condition.
  • Participate in process improvements for workflow, file management, and visual standards documentation.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of professional product photography experience, ideally in e-commerce or retail environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of strobe and continuous lighting setups, modifiers, and color control.
  • Proficient in Capture One, Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects in a high-volume studio.
  • Strong sense of visual consistency, composition, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with creative, marketing, and production teams.
  • Experience shooting for large retailers such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, and DSG.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems and color management workflows.
  • Experience with lifestyle photography or creative campaign imagery a plus.
  • Delivers consistent, accurate, and on-brand product imagery across all platforms.
  • Maintains a strong reputation for technical precision, efficiency, and dependability.
  • Partners seamlessly with studio leadership and cross-functional creative teams.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of studio operations and standards.
