Dental Insurance / Treatment Coordinator

Location: Lehi, UT

We are seeking a highly organized, motivated Dental Insurance and Treatment Coordinator with prior experience to join our growing pediatric dental team. Responsibilities
  • Verify dental insurance benefits and accurately communicate coverage and patient financial responsibilities.
  • Present and explain treatment plans, costs, insurance benefits, and payment options to patients.
  • Coordinate treatment scheduling and follow up with patients on unscheduled or incomplete treatment.
  • Submit and follow up on insurance claims, pre-authorizations, denials, and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate patient financial and insurance records.
  • Collaborate with doctors and the dental team to ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support practice goals for treatment acceptance, scheduling, and collections.
Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a dental office, preferably as a Treatment Coordinator, Insurance Coordinator, Financial Coordinator, or similar role.

Strong knowledge of dental insurance, including:

  • Verifying benefits and eligibility
  • Understanding deductibles, annual maximums, waiting periods, and exclusions
  • Reading dental insurance plans and fee schedules
  • Estimating patient out-of-pocket costs
  • Understanding common CDT codes and dental terminology
  • Working with PPO, DHMO/capitation, and other common dental plans

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and confidently explain treatment plans, insurance benefits, and financial options to patients in a compassionate and professional manner. Maintains a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive patient and financial information..

Experience with insurance claims:

  • Claim submissions & pre-authorizations
  • Following up on outstanding claims, and resolving insurance discrepancies or denials.

Experience with dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Curve, or similar.

Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing insurance benefits, treatment plans, estimates, and patient accounts.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple patients, treatment plans, and insurance issues simultaneously.

Professional, positive, and patient-focused demeanor.

Ability to work effectively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and front-office staff.
