Job Description The Family Search Library is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Collections Staff Assistant to support the management and maintenance of library materials and catalog records. This temporary, part-time position plays an important role in ensuring library collections are organized, accurate, and accessible to patrons and staff.
This is an in-person position based at the Family Search Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Remote work is not available.
General Requirements- Temple worthy
- Availability to work in person at the Family Search Library
- Ability to work shifts of at least four consecutive hours
- Receive, unpack, and process incoming books and materials
- Verify and correct information in the library catalog
- Sort and process items returned from other locations
- Shelve books and maintain organization of library collections
- Assist with inventory management of library materials
Track and update monthly collection statistics
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push carts containing books and boxes
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand regularly, and sit for extended periods as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and related tools
- Ability to learn and effectively use the Koha library catalog system
- Only members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment
