Overview
After school Educators will oversee the daily activities associated with the after school program, will work closely with the after school coordinator and school administrators to ensure that youth are engaging in positive youth development activities. This position will be at multiple locations within Sanpete County (Manti, Ephraim, Mt. Pleasant, and Fairview). The 4-H After school Program operates Monday-Thursday from 2:30PM-5:30PM.
Responsibilities- Facilitate daily after school activities in cooperation with after school staff, USU Faculty, and school administrators
- Assist in the collection of evaluation forms, keep daily attendance records, and complete program activity summaries
- Facilitate the implementation of quarterly 4-H Family STEM Nights
- Assist after school staff in other duties as assigned
- Attend mandatory staff and professional development meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be available to work during after school hours, between 2:00pm-5:30pm, as well as, at least one evening each quarter for 4-H Family STEM Night activities
- Must be able to work effectively with after school staff, USU Faculty, youth, families, and school administrators
- Must be able to take direction from after school Staff
- Must have reliable transportation to and from after school activities and meetings at the County Extension Office
- Must complete professional development trainings in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Past experience with the 4-H program is preferred
- Experience working with youth, families, and school administrators
- Spanish speaking and writing is preferred
$12.25 an hour
ADAThis position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 25 pounds, walking and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions set forth by DWS and Child Care Licensing.
