Job Summary
Tutor WSU students in Chemistry at the Ogden Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on an individual appointment and/or drop‑in basis. Appointment availability is determined by the tutor. Training is provided in tutoring techniques with three certification levels—Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3—each associated with a pay increase. Level 3 tutors may advance to the Lead Tutor role, providing direct student support and additional management responsibilities.
ResponsibilityProvide one‑to‑one or group tutoring sessions, maintain accurate appointment schedules, assist with course materials, and apply training techniques developed at each certification level.
Eligibility and Qualifications- Must be a WSU student.
- Must have earned a “B” or better in the courses to be tutored.
- Strong working knowledge of the subject matter.
- Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Completion of Levels I and II of CRLA training.
- Ability to tutor multiple chemistry courses.

Physical RequirementsSedentary work, occasional lifting up to 10 lb. Walking and standing only occasionally. Duties include detailed reading and computer use.
