Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

MyAdvice’s Controller is the senior accounting professional at the Company. Our Controller is responsible for managing all accounting operations, monitoring the company’s overall financial health and acting as the authority on MyAdvice’s financial data with internal and external parties. As a growing organization with aggressive goals, our Controller should be capable of overseeing increasing numbers of transactions, revenue and expenses to support our growth.

This individual is responsible for the production of monthly financial reports, maintenance of our system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller enhances the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

The Controller position is critical to our success. Our Controller currently manages a staff of two, our Senior Accountant and our AR/AP Specialist. Our ideal candidate is a strong verbal and written communicator, is technologically adept, and possesses excellent analytical and data inference skills. This individual should have experience in compliance, reconciliations, audits, documentation, system controls and a strong sense of integrity.

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards
• Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue and payment of bills
• In conjunction with the CEO and other senior executives, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
• Oversee and support our other accounting staff with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust, learning and productivity.
• Ensure AR stays in an acceptable range
• Oversee, enter and maintain correct payroll including commission calculations
• Prepare for and oversee annual audit by external CPA firm

• 2-4 years controller experience
• 6-10 years total accounting experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
• Professional accounting certification, CPA and/or CMA
• Working knowledge of GAAP, including ASC 606
• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus but not required

• Bonus Potential: $10k-$15k

  We mostly work remote. However, this job requires the Controller to be in the office once a week to handle bills, payments and compliance items that may be mailed to the office in Lehi, UT.
• Schedule:
  
  Monday-Friday, flex hours. MyAdvice offers flex hours where you start and end at the time you want as long as you work a 40 hour week. There may be required meetings during normal office hours on certain days.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (90% at desk, 10% of time walking);
  Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and use typical office equipment (computers, keyboards, printer, etc.)

  Generally not required.
