Senior Inventory Accountant
This is a full-time role based in Lehi, UT.
Responsibilities- Join with the Accounting, Operations, and Fin Tech teams to support P&L and BS-related Inventory management, as well as strategic analysis from both a financial and operational point-of-view
- Help prepare monthly flux variance analyses
- Lead projects and initiatives focused on inventory controls and integration activities
- Document and maintain inventory control processes, including physical inventories, offsite inventory balances, subledger accuracy and SOX compliance
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Finance Director and other partners to develop, document, and execute monthly accounting activities, such as JE, account reconciliations, accruals, and reporting
- Apply advanced manufacturing and cost accounting experience to all inventory processes, ensuring financial accuracy
- Utilize strong analytical and critical thinking skills, often using Excel and querying tools (Net Suite/Snowflake), to manage the complexity of the business and mitigate risks
- Demonstrate adaptability and an action bias, responding quickly to the daily shifts and high-volume growth environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
- 7-10 years experience in Manufacturing and/or cost accounting
- Sophisticated knowledge of GAAP in relation to inventory including experience with SOX compliance and physical inventory/cycle counts
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- ERP experience required; strong preference for Net Suite/Snowflake experience
- Manufacturing or e-Commerce distribution industry experience, Big 4 audit experience, and public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with AI tools preferred
- Acts as a proactive problem solver and critical thinker, successfully leading complex, ad-hoc projects to fix broken inventory processes (which represent 90% of the job)
- Drives continuous process improvements and quickly adapts to the constantly changing operational landscape and high-volume growth environment
- Serves as an effective middle layer of management and uses FP&A experience to accurately inform reporting, successfully bridging the gap between inventory accounting and operations
- Follows through with all assignments in a timely manner
- Gives 100% to all tasks and projects given
- Takes full ownership of projects and follows through to completion
- This role will provide opportunities to expand your scope, potentially evolving from a critical individual contributor into a middle layer management position. Exceptional performance may also open pathways to serve in a more specialized role as the team continues to grow.
- First 30 days:
Focus on completing onboarding and establishing a foundational understanding of the business’s complex global inventory flow and marketplace operations. Establish key working relationships with the Supply Chain Finance Director and Operations partners in the Lehi office while assuming initial responsibility for global Amazon reconciliations and assisting in documenting core SOX compliance procedures. - By 60 days:
Own collaboration with the Supply Chain Finance Director and partners to develop, document, and execute monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and reporting. Provide consistent “boots on the ground” support in Lehi for brand management, EDI projects, and physical inventories, while preparing monthly flux variance analyses. - By 90 days:
Lead at least one key ad‑hoc project focused on fixing a systemic inventory problem, demonstrating critical thinking and adaptability. Formally document and finalize improvements to inventory control processes, bridging the gap between inventory accounting and ops finance using FP&A experience to inform reporting.
- Work with other Finance & Operations team members at all levels, supervised by the Supply Chain Finance Director. The team is data driven and results oriented, collaborating regularly to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
