Compensation

The compensation target for this role is: $63,800 - $75,000

Job Summary

The HR Generalist is a key partner in bringing Purple’s people strategy to life, supporting the full employee experience from hire to retire. Sitting at the intersection of Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Communications, and HR Business Partnership, this role helps managers and employees navigate everyday HR needs while keeping our culture of curiosity, collaboration, and care front and center. You’ll balance recruiting coordination, engagement programming, and HRBP-style consultation, giving you visibility across the entire HR function and real ownership over the programs you touch.

This role reports into the HR team and works cross-functionally with leaders throughout the business, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on relationship-building, and wants their work to directly shape what it feels like to work at Purple.

Job Description How you’ll shape the future of comfort:
  • Serve as a trusted HR point of contact for assigned client groups, advising managers and employees on policies, performance management, and everyday HR questions.
  • Draft and deliver clear, engaging internal communications on HR programs, policy updates, and initiatives, tailoring messaging for different audiences across the company.
  • Design and lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, culture events, and pulse surveys, that strengthen connection, morale, and retention.
  • Support HR Business Partners with employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, and coaching guidance for people leaders.
  • Coordinate HR projects, from process improvements to program rollouts, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables across talent acquisition, engagement, and HR operations.
  • Assist with administration of compensation, benefits, and leave programs, answering employee questions and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Partner with hiring managers to source, screen, and coordinate interviews for open roles, delivering a smooth, positive experience for every candidate.
  • Support workplace investigations by gathering documentation, conducting or assisting with interviews, and helping HR Business Partners reach fair, well-documented resolutions.
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–4 years of progressive HR generalist experience spanning recruiting, employee relations, and HR operations.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO).
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and interview coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and shift deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • High degree of discretion, sound judgment, and comfort handling confidential information.
Even Better if…
  • Experience supporting HR in a retail, manufacturing, or consumer products environment.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement survey tools and action planning.
  • Experience partnering with HR Business Partners on organizational design or workforce planning.
  • Experience working with Workday
