Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview:
They need someone to join hardware management team

The team:
Supports private cloud infrastructure
Provides hardware infrastructure for internal developers
They don't run the applications... they provide the infrastructure.

Looking for :
A mid-level career kind of person.
Someone familiar with operating hardware environments at scale
Someone open to learning and scaling up

Hardware Platforms:
Their environment includes:
Cisco UCS (primary)
Dell server hardware
Some Client hardware

Core Responsibilities:
Work as hardware lifecycle management.

Responsibilities include:

Installing equipment
Firmware upgrades
Repairs
Maintenance
Decommissioning hardware

Rack & Stack Work:
Physical data center work is not the main job.
There is a separate data center operations team that handles unboxing, racking and cabling.
And:
Once all the cables are plugged in - that's where they start.
Interaction With Other Teams

Familiarity with these areas :
Networking
Storage
OS / applications

Top Must-Haves:
~Server Hardware / Infrastructure Experience
Strong hands-on experience with server hardware in an enterprise or service provider environment.
~Data Center Networking Concepts
They don t need networking skills... they need familiarity with how systems interact with the network.
Automation Ability:
Ability to automate infrastructure operations to reduce manual work.
-Nice-to-Have Skills
Tools like:
OME (Open Manage Enterprise)
One View

-Experience With Scale
If someone has experience running a fleet of a few hundred... they run a few thousand.

On-Call Requirement:
24-hour on-call
Rotation based
