As a Content Moderation & Policy Expert Rater, you will evaluate platform content (text, images, video, audio) against trust and safety policies, producing high‑quality human judgments that train and calibrate AI moderation systems. You will assess content across harm categories (hate speech, harassment, mis/disinformation, violent extremism, self‑harm, policy‑violating synthetic content) and evaluate AI moderation decisions for accuracy, bias, and policy alignment.

This role demands policy reasoning, cultural literacy, and professional resilience within an organized wellbeing framework.

Key Responsibilities Content Evaluation & Harm Classification
  • Review and classify content across harm taxonomies: hate speech, violent extremism, graphic violence, adult content, self‑harm, mis/disinformation, spam, and coordinated inauthentic behaviour
  • Distinguish policy‑violating content from protected speech, satire, and educational context; annotate severity, context, and intent; handle multi‑language and multi‑modal content with cultural sensitivity.
Policy Interpretation & AI Evaluation
  • Apply content policies consistently across edge cases, novel formats, and ambiguous scenarios; flag coverage gaps for escalation
  • Rate AI moderation decisions for accuracy, fairness, and bias patterns; produce RLHF preference annotations to improve AI moderation calibration.
Quality, Calibration & Process
  • Maintain 98%+ accuracy; participate in inter‑rater calibration and policy alignment reviews; adhere to exposure protocols and wellness check‑ins
  • Escalate urgent or legally sensitive content through correct channels with appropriate documentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Political Science, Sociology, Law, Psychology, Journalism, or Linguistics (equivalent T&S or policy experience considered)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in content moderation, trust and safety, content policy, or closely related field; proven ability to apply complex policy frameworks across ambiguous content scenarios.
  • Experience in content policy interpretation, multi‑modal content review, harm taxonomy classification, mis/disinformation identification, culturally nuanced evaluation, policy ambiguity & escalation judgment, AI moderation evaluation & auditing, annotation QA & inter‑rater reliability.
