Position: IT Specialist – Full Time – Salt Lake City

IT Specialist – Full Time – Salt Lake City, Utah

Department: Operations – IT

Reports to: VP, Production & CIO or System Administrator

Schedule / Shift: Monday – Friday; EST Day Hours; 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for all aspects of network administration support including servers, desktop systems, hardware/software and office systems. In addition, the role will involve using your knowledge of various information security technologies to provide technical security advice, and influence design, policy and strategy.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Network administration and preventive maintenance (including firewalls, servers, backup, security management, user account management, e‑mail accounts and server configuration, internet access, office systems and applications support).
  • Monitoring IT network to ensure availability to all users.
  • Follow security trends and stay abreast of technology changes.
  • Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
  • Assist with technology planning through ongoing research.
  • Align IT risk management within IT productivity objectives.
  • Perform technology needs analysis.
  • Knowledge of MS365 environment, Outlook, SharePoint, and One Drive.

Education/

Experience:
  • Education or solid knowledge of computer networking
  • At least 2 years experience managing and monitoring IT networks/security, server administration, operating systems and/or hardware
  • 2 years experience handling mid‑large size organization IT support to include Microsoft 365, Windows Operating System, Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM is preferred. This also includes configuration/security/manufacturer updates which is strongly desired.
Language Ability:
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Possesses influencing skills as well as the ability to present complex situations in a clear and simple way.
  • Speaking – Talking to others to convey information effectively.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
    • Other languages are an asset.
Computer

Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, One Drive, SharePoint) both in deployment and administration
  • Experience with the following:
    Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, patch management.
  • Working knowledge of WAN/LAN/WIFI technology, Windows scripting/logging/auditing, encryption.
