Truss Assembler – St. George, Utah
Compensation$17.00 - $19.00 (total compensation)
PurposeThe Assembler is an entry‑level position that performs repetitive assembly operations to mass‑produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
- Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
- Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
- Removes defective products as needed.
- Tends machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
- Works at different workstations as production needs require.
- Works in environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced.
- Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements- No educational or experience requirements.
- Prior carpentry experience helpful.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and express verbally in individual and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; read tape measure.
- Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
- Overtime work may be required.
- Employee continuously stands, uses hands, reaches, talks, and hears.
- Employee continuously walks.
- Employee occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Employee continuously lifts/moves up to 25 pounds; frequently lifts up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
- Specific vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
- Employee exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
- Employee frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, electrical shock, vibration.
- Noisy work environment; ear plugs required for noise protection; eye protection and other personal protective equipment also required.
